Seed Funds for Employee Insights Firm StatusToday

London-based AI-driven employee insights platform StatusToday has raised $3.91m in a seed round. Funds will be used to expand its team, which currently comprises fourteen people in London and Ukraine.

Founded in 2015 by former Microsoft data scientist and software engineer Ankur Modi and former Just Eat enterprise architect Mircea Dumitrescu, StatusToday applies artificial intelligence to data to analyse employee data in real-time, helping companies to understand how their workforce is operating and implement improvements. Since launch, the platform has been used to analyse more than 350 million actions by 165,000 employees.

New funding was led by Local Globe, with participation from Notion Capital and Firstminute Capital, and will be used to expand both the London and Ukraine teams. Modi comments: 'We've already seen lots of changes in where people work, when they work and the range of devices they use. StatusToday is a service designed for the modern workplace, that helps companies understand their effectiveness in this new environment. We are building the world's largest information source on employee behavior and know that companies and employees will both benefit from the insights we can provide'.
