Appointments at GfK Turkey IPU

GfK Turkey has expanded its International Projects Unit, established two and a half years ago to concentrate on co-ordination work for international clients, with the appointment of Ms Fulya Durmus and Ms Ozge Aktas.

The Unit was created after the acquisition of IBS Marketing Research Services by GfK Turkey, and employs a dedicated team of researchers with advanced language skills whose main role is to manage foreign accounts only. The new appointments are intended to help the team to better focus on marketing activities and business development.

Ms Durmus has been with the company since the year 2000. She is a member of GfK Turkey's management committee and leads GfK's recently launched global IQS Team. Before joining the company she was MD of DAP Marketing Research Inc. in Istanbul, where she began her career as a Research Assistant in 1991. She will help co-ordinate international projects and support the Unit in general.

Ms Aktas is a sociologist and junior researcher who joined the company in early June after completing a masters programme at the University of Essex in the UK and will now operate as research assistant to the Unit's Manager, Ms Deniz Ozerdil.

The Unit serves clients mainly from the UK, USA and major European countries, and co-ordinates qualitative and quantitative research in sectors including finance, health, FMCG, media, telecommunications, IT, energy, B2B, automotive and agriculture.

Ms Ozerdil says 'I am sure Fulya and Ozge will continue to contribute to our successes as Turkey's only dedicated unit for clients in other countries'.
