Market Analyst Seeks Crowd Funding

In the US, market research report distributor and reseller Market Analyst is actively seeking investments in return for equity in the business. Initially it aims to raise $107k through the online public offering, but its eventual target is $535k.

Market Analyst distributes MR reports as PDFs optimized for mobile devices, and also converts them into eBooks. In addition, the firm is in the process of building a web site that allows the research reports to be split into even smaller segments, allowing buyers to order and instantly download MR in packages.

The company was founded in 2012 by President and CEO Naqi Jaffery (pictured), who previously held senior roles with Strategis Group, Gartner, IDC and Yankee Group. Jaffery says that while equity crowdfunding carries risks, its main attraction is the prospect of getting returns on investment that are greater than those that come from other assets, such as bonds or publicly-quoted shares. Being an LLC, holders of Market Analyst securities are called members, and each security is known as a membership unit, with all members have voting rights and each membership unit counting as one vote.
