Meetrics Adds Google / YouTube Ad Verification
European ad visibility analyst Meetrics has followed up its recent announcement of Facebook video viewability verification with a similar partnership covering Google services YouTube Ads and Google Video Partners (GVP).
The MRC-accredited firm will measure viewability of ads on the Google platforms across all devices, while guaranteeing privacy and security for YouTube's end users. To begin with, it will offer industry standard viewability measurement for YouTube video ads, verifying impressions that have at least 50 percent of an ad's pixels on screen for two or more consecutive seconds. This will be followed 'soon' by more advanced metrics including audibility and viewable time on screen.
Established in Germany ten years ago and backed by venture capital and private investors, Meetrics provides control over advertising environments, audiences and fraudulent ad placements, in addition to its core measurement services; and is the first European company to be accredited by the US-based Media Rating Council (MRC) for Sophisticated Fraud Detection, Mobile Web and In-App Viewability measurements. Three months ago, it announced it had become the first firm outside the US to verify viewability metrics for videos served on Facebook and Instagram.
Co-founder and MD Philipp von Hilgers (pictured) comments: 'Meetrics is now able to provide viewability reports for advertisements running on YouTube, which is good news for our advertisers and partners'.
