Opinium Founder Named OnePoll Head of Research
Opinium founder Mark Hodson has been named Head of Research at OnePoll, which specialises in conducting online polls for PR purposes.
With bases in London, Bristol and New York, OnePoll is part of PR and market research group 72 Point, and boasts online research panels in the UK, US, Europe and worldwide. This year, the firm is launching its first app, in a bid to expand its online pane by making it simpler for panellists to complete questionnaires.
Hodson (pictured) joins in Bristol from the British Heart Foundation, where he served as Customer Insight Manager. Before this, he was Market Research Manager at Visa Europe and Nielsen Online's Digital Measurement Science Client Service Manager for Europe. In 2007, he set up online research consultancy Opinium, having previously served as YouGov's Head of Market Research and held senior research management positions at ONdigital (ITVdigital), the RAC, London Underground, Which? (Consumers' Association) and IPC Southbank Magazines.
Commenting on his appointment, Hodson said: 'I am delighted to be joining OnePoll at a time of great change and opportunity, both for the firm and for UK opinion polling in general. Having headed up the research function at Opinium and YouGov in the past, I'm aware of the pressures on 'for publication' research and how these differ from conventional confidential surveys. With the upcoming launch of our new app, OnePoll will be a position to deliver results to our clients faster and more accurately.'
