VAB Promotes Wiese to SVP of Strategic Insights
In New York, the Video Advertising Bureau (VAB) has promoted Jason Wiese to the role of Senior Vice President and Director of Strategic Insights.
Previously known as the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau, VAB uses research and analytics to expand the market for advertising in professionally produced video content. It commissions research on two levels - quantifying the primary role that ad-supported TV plays in generating consumer sales traffic, and clarifying attribution in the modern media mix.
Wiese (pictured) most recently served as VP in the Strategic Insights Group, whose primary function is to support the creation of original, client-facing communications. He joined VAB in 2013 from Universal McCann, where he served as VP, Group Media Director, developing media strategies and overseeing promotional media plans. Before this, he was Market Resources Manager in the Ad Sales Research group at Discovery Communications, where he supported the development of forecasting, trend analyses and consumer research presentations across the network portfolio. Earlier he was a Media Supervisor at Mindshare, having begun his career with a first stint at Universal McCann.
In his new role, he is tasked with providing marketers with 'industry-defining data', actionable thought leadership and custom reports.
