US Intelligence Community Analytics Firm Acquired
US not-for-profit research institute Analytic Services Inc. (ANSER) has acquired Maryland-based IAT, which provides advanced methods for data collection, analysis and decision-making to the US Intelligence Community.
ANSER works for the national security, homeland security and public policy communities on studies including risk assessment and analysis of alternatives, acquisition and workforce analysis, performance measurement and policy formulation. It also has a technology development collaboration subsidiary, Advanced Technology International (ATI), which organises and manages research and development consortia on behalf of the federal government.
IAT (Innovative Analytics & Training) provides the Intelligence Community with operational support and training to define issues, identify alternatives and make critical decisions, and ANSER says the acquisition gives it additional analytic depth and breadth as well as access to a new business sector.
Carmen Spencer (pictured), President and CEO of ANSER, comments: 'As a not-for-profit, ANSER maintains its legacy of public service through objective analysis and thought leadership independent of commercial influences and those of outside financial stakeholders. This acquisition gives us greater depth and breadth of data and information analysis expertise as it applies to a specific sector of the federal government'.
Kevin O'Connell, President and CEO of IAT comments: 'This is a great opportunity for the IAT staff to continue their superb support to existing clients while simultaneously gaining access to more opportunities, as well as analytic capability and expertise'.
