Wunderman Launches Data Division with Murray at Helm
WPP's global digital agency Wunderman has set up a Data Products division, and appointed Michael Murray to lead it as President and Chief Product Officer.
The new division is dedicated to helping clients manage one-to-one relationships with their customers at scale. Murray (pictured) joins with more than 25 years of experience in product management and data strategy. Most recently, he was CEO of ItemMaster, a Chicago start-up that uses product data to drive eCommerce and retail for CPG companies in the US. Before this, he served as Chief Product Officer of Catalina and Chief Marketing Officer of Sears Holdings' eCommerce businesses. Earlier in his career he spent eight years at AOL and was the founding GM of Targetbase Interactive. In addition, he sat on the Board of shopper data specialist Nielsen Catalina Solutions.
In his new Denver-based role, Murray will be tasked with driving Wunderman's data strategy by expanding the firm's identity graph, consumer database, data cooperative and onboarding tools. He will report to Wunderman Data CEO Jacques van Niekerk, who comments: 'Data and insights power everything in our industry, and we are excited to bring in someone like Michael to help expand Wunderman's capabilities and scale.
