MR Translator Language Connect Bought by THG

Language Connect, a specialist in translation and communication services for the market research industry, has been acquired by online beauty and wellbeing businesses The Hut Group (THG) for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 2003 by Ben and Iwona Taylor, Language Connect provides full-service translation, localisation, interpreting, voice over and verbatim coding services from offices in London, New York, Munich, Singapore, Dubai and Melbourne. THG says the acquisition represents a significant addition to its proprietary technology platform, THG Ingenuity, which underpins and powers the group's systems and portfolio of health and beauty brands. The Group currently operates 166 localised web sites, retailing goods in 164 countries.

THG says it is committed to the growth of Language Connect's global customer base, and will also offer the firm's services to existing THG Ingenuity clients. Ben Taylor comments: 'With Language Connect's deep specialisation in market research, we will continue to innovate in the MR sector. With the breadth of technology expertise in THG, I am confident that Language Connect's solutions offering will grow significantly for both existing and new clients'.
