Cubeiq Appoints Chief Privacy Officer

In the US, location intelligence and consumer insights specialist Cuebiq has hired former Oath and Yahoo privacy exec Shane Wiley as Chief Privacy Officer.

Shane WileyCuebiq provides 'geo-behavioral audiences' for cross-platform ad targeting, real-time campaign optimization and footfall attribution tools, as well as off-line location analytics. Earlier in the year, the firm received an unspecified amount of new funding, and it opened an office in San Francisco's SoMa district.

Wiley (pictured) joins with almost 30 years of experience in software engineering, product management and policy. Most recently, he worked for Verizon Communications-owned digital content provider Oath as Vice President of Privacy, leading privacy and technical integration across 50 consumer brands, such as Yahoo, AOL, Tumblr, Huffington Post, and Flickr, and driving their global GDPR compliance efforts. Earlier, he was Privacy and Data Governance lead at Yahoo, where his team supported more than 1.4 billion users across hundreds of products, services and platforms in over 80 markets in 40+ languages.

In his new role, Wiley will support Cuebiq's GDPR-like framework for user information and consent across all app partnerships, while spearheading the firm's privacy technology project.
