Sondergaard Out as Gartner EVP of Research & Advisory
Peter Sondergaard, Gartner's EVP of Research & Advisory, has resigned from his position due to 'behavior in the workplace that the company determined to be inconsistent with its code of conduct and core values'. He has been replaced by long-term company exec Michael Harris.
Sondergaard (pictured) joined in 2001 as GVP, Research EMEA, having previously worked for IDC Scandinavia as a Research Analyst and been responsible for the integration of PCs and data at airline SAS. He took up his most recent role in 2004, and has since developed a global organization of more than 1,000 experts across, IT, Supply Chain and Marketing, expanding the client base to over 13.300 organizations across more than 80 countries.
According to salary.com, Sondergaards's base pay was $461k, with a $523k bonus, and he received around $1m in company stock. In an SEC statement, Gartner said there has been no disagreement between Sondergaard and the company 'around strategy, financials or business practices'. No additional information was given.
New EVP Research & Advisory Harris has been at the company for twenty years, and now reports to CEO Gene Hall. Most recently, he led a global team of experts as SVP, IT Leaders & Tech Professionals Research.
