Bonney Dives Into New Agency Venture

In the UK, former Camelot Head of Insight Nick Bonney has set up his own consultancy, Deep Blue Thinking, promising to maximise the return on clients' current research investment by finding the 'hidden gems' in existing work, and telling impactful stories.

Nick BonneyBonney (pictured) most recently served as Managing Director of ABA Research, but stepped down in March to set up the new venture. He has a two decade clientside career which included leading the Insight team at Camelot UK - before this he served as Market & Customer Insight Director at EE, and spent eleven years at Orange, latterly as UK Market Insight Director. Earlier, Bonney worked agency side as a Research Manager at Maritz Research, and Field Manager at RDSi, having begun his career at NOP.

With the new firm, Bonney aims to embed consumer insight through training, consultancy and workshops; and use research technology to design innovative solutions, tailored to clients' specific business questions. He will also train and coach clientside teams to help them tell better stories to inspire change.

Commenting on the launch, Bonney said: 'I set up Deep Blue Thinking to work more closely with clients, using my experience working that side of the fence. All too often, agencies believe their job stops at the debrief. By understanding how Insight teams fit within the corporate world, I help businesses get more from their research spend'.
