Kaltura Launches Targeted TV Solution

Video tech provider Kaltura has launched an AI-based solution which segments TV audiences and then offer users tailored experiences to increase and improve their viewing.

Shay DavidKaltura's TV Platform features personalized multi-screen access to linear, VOD and time-shifted TV as well as third-party content. With 300 million API calls per day and more than 40 million active users per month, the company claims to provide access to the 'deepest and broadest' data mine, for advanced user segmentation.

Aimed at pay-TV operators, telcos, media companies and broadcasters using the firm's platform, the new Targeted TV solution delivers tailored, cloud-based video experiences to engage specific audiences. These segments can be adapted and modified 'on the fly', as a result of changing criteria, while the tool's embedded dynamic learning system provides feedback through which operators can change offers based on users' reactions to/take up of specific promotions.
