Crimson Hexagon Debuts Reverse Image Search
Social media monitoring and analysis specialist Crimson Hexagon claims to be the first company in the industry to launch reverse image search capabilities, allowing analysts to search by picture instead of text across its data library.
Crimson Hexagon's platform is powered by patented technology and an in-house data library said to contain more than one trillion social media posts. In addition, the company offers proprietary image analysis technology, to help brands uncover insights contained in consumers' photos. Using this service, brands can analyse images to understand the top objects and scenes that appear in photos, and use that insight to tailor their marketing campaigns, drive product enhancements, and identify influencers.
The company's new reverse image search capabilities have been designed to allow market researchers to uncover a full range of consumer sentiment and reactions to image-based content. Results include exact matches, visually similar images, and a full set of analytics on the consumer conversations related to that picture. Researchers can now run a query by image in the Crimson Hexagon platform to analyze consumer conversations related to the visual portrayals of brands' products, brands or campaigns.
Errol Apostolopoulos (pictured), SVP of Product, comments: 'Brands are drowning in data about their consumers, but struggle to surface the insights that are buried in all of that information. With reverse image search and other features in this new version of the platform, we help our customers harness the insights buried in massive volumes of unstructured information to enable better decision-making across the enterprise'.
