wilko Hires for New Customer Insights and Data Role

In the UK, family-owned retailer wilko has hired former Ebiquity exec Neil Feakins for the newly created role of Customer Insights and Data Director. He will join the business on 4th October.

Neil FeakinsThe firm has been trading since 1930, and now has 418 stores across the UK. Feakins (pictured) joins after more than five years at media and marketing insights firm Ebiquity, where he served as Client Partner. Before this he was an AD, Marketing Planning at comparethemarket.com, Head of Reporting & Analytics for Barclays, Head of Data for RBS Insurance, and Head of Acquisition for Churchill Insurance. He began his career as a media planner at MediaCom.

In his new role, Feakins will work alongside existing wilko teams to help provide customers with the right quality products at the right prices. He will report into Lisa Wilkinson, third-generation director of parent company Wilkinson Hardware Stores Limited (WHSL), who comments: 'This is a great appointment for wilko and further demonstrates our commitment to becoming a business more focused on making products our customers tell us they need. Having worked closely with Neil over the past few years I'm delighted he has chosen to join the team and that he will now be even more closely involved in driving our transformation'.
