Shapiro+Raj Buys Creative Ideas Agency Wygant & Co
In the US, research consultancy Shapiro+Raj has acquired strategic ideas agency Wygant & Co, its long-time creative partner, as it continues to evolve its business model to 'connect data, insights and ideas'. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Baltimore, MD-based Wygant & Co helps organizations by combining consumer insight, strategic consulting and creative execution to drive revenue and build brands. As part of the deal, the company's Principal Jeffrey Wygant (pictured) will lead Shapiro+Raj's efforts to add creativity throughout the research and planning process.
Shapiro+Raj was formed in 2014 when business transformation specialist Zain Raj acquired a majority interest in independent MR firm Shapiro. The company recently sold. its Qualitative Fieldwork Practice (QFP) to data collection provider Schlesinger Group, to enable it to focus on its core business.
Through the acquisition of Wygant & Co, Raj claims that his company now has all the pieces in place to deliver value to clients that they can't get from any other research company - 'insights brought to life with validated ideas'. Wygant adds: 'What Zain and his team are building is something different. I'm excited to bring the creative process upstream and play a more integrated role in helping brands find new pathways to growth'.
