Growth Funds for BI Developer Sisense
Business intelligence (BI) software developer Sisense has raised $80m in an investment round, and plans to use it for 'aggressive' hiring, global growth and roll out of its Single-Stack analytics platform.
Founded in 2005, Sisense allows business users with no technical background to get intelligence at the moment it is needed rather than waiting 'hours, days or even weeks' for answers. Its platform is used to prepare, analyze and visualize large volumes and a broad variety of data, and its In-Chip and Single Stack technologies have been developed to simplify each step of the BI process - from data preparation to discovery of insights. The company has more than 450 employees spread across offices in Tel Aviv, Kiev, Tokyo, Arizona and its New York headquarters.
Funding has been led by New-York based Insight Venture Partners, as well as existing investors, and brings the total amount raised to date to approximately $200m. CEO Amir Orad (pictured) comments: 'We are honored that Insight Venture Partners has joined our mission to empower everyone by making data-driven insights instantly accessible everywhere. This round will allow us to accelerate our aggressive hiring, increase our global footprint, boost our cloud offering, and make additional investments in our machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) labs that are the core of our In-Chip technology and analytics platform agility'.
