HG Data Buys ICT Intelligence Firm Pivotal iQ
US B2B big data firm HG Data has acquired London-based ICT industry sourcing intelligence specialist Pivotal iQ, for an undisclosed sum.
Pivotal uses big data techniques and technologies to analyze the ICT industry's supply and purchasing activities and identify points of business value for companies along the chain. Users are offered a better understanding of what customers spend, what they have purchased, what has been outsourced and their budget position. HG says the acquisition strengthens its own position by adding Pivotal iQ's IT contract data, spend intelligence and an interface that helps businesses generate better insights.
Following the buy, the combined companies will retain the Pivotal IQ office in London and HG Data's existing Santa Barbara-based headquarters. HG Data CEO Elizabeth Cholawsky (pictured left) says the buy means HG Data is the 'first in the market' to deliver a blend of IT spend, IT install and contract renewal intelligence.
Tim Royston-Webb (pictured right), Pivotal iQ CEO, adds: 'Our vision for Pivotal iQ has been to deliver the best intelligence on the IT sourcing activities of organizations, empowering businesses to make better decisions. By joining with HG Data, our joint customer base now has access to an unparalleled portfolio of firmographic and technographic data, along with intuitive decision tools that will help their businesses grow and succeed'.
