Sorrell's S4 Capital Makes Stock Exchange Debut
Sir Martin Sorrell is once again head of a publicly listed company, as S4 Capital takes its place on the London Stock Exchange.
Six weeks after quitting WPP, Sorrell (pictured) became head of shell company Derriston Capital, which has since been renamed S4 Capital as a vehicle to buy marketing firms. Its first acquisition, of Dutch creative digital production company MediaMonks, took place in July. Today, S4 Capital announced the placement of around 255m consolidated ordinary shares of £0.25 each.
In S4 Capital's prospectus, the business outlines its focus on data analytics and digital media planning and buying. Sorrell is now Executive Chairman, with an 18.16% share in the business, while Sky Bet Chairman Paul Roy and Rupert Faure, the former MD of HSBC's investment banking arm, have become non-executive directors.
The firm is online at www.s4capital.com .
