dunnhumby MD to Join Tesco
In the UK, supermarket giant Tesco has appointed dunnhumby MD Matt McLellan as Customer Propositions Director, replacing Toby Horry who left last week.
dunnhumby is a customer data science business which helped establish the Tesco Clubcard loyalty business in 1994 and is now owned by the retail giant. McLellan (pictured) takes up his new role after more than fourteen years at dunnhumby, which he joined in 2004 as Client Manager, before helping set up a new venture with Tesco China, based in Shanghai, then becoming MD in China and finally taking up the post of MD, UK & Ireland in July 2007. Earlier, he worked for Safeway, in roles including Category Manager.
In a statement on LinkedIn, McLellan described his departure to start a new chapter in his life: 'I have been so fortunate to have worked with fantastic people at dunnhumby, across many different cultures and countries. Thank you for all the great memories, the challenging and exciting work and for the constant strive to do the right thing for customers'.
According to Campaign magazine, Horry will be taking up a new marketing role in November, having been with Tesco since 2015.
