Clarivate Analytics Buys TrademarkVision
US firm Clarivate Analytics has acquired Australian artificial intelligence technology company TrademarkVision. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
TrademarkVision's AI-powered image recognition software applies the principles of facial recognition to visually search artwork, images and 3D design patents, in order to determine whether a proposed trademark logo is acceptable or if it infringes on an existing trademark. The firm now joins Clarivate's trademark research and brand protection solutions business CompuMark, which already uses TrademarkVision's technology within its TM go365 tool.
Following the takeover, TrademarkVision's CEO and founder Sandra Mau (pictured) will remain with the company, along with COO Cameron Mitchell and their team of more than 30 professionals based in Brisbane, Australia and Pittsburgh, USA. Mau says her company will now 'be able to leverage CompuMark's expertise in the trademark industry and vast global distribution channels to ensure its next generation of solutions reach trademark professionals around the world'.
