Partners Add Visual AI to Shopper Personalization
In New York, visual recognition AI firm Clarifai and personalized shopping recommendation specialist RichRelevance have partnered to deliver a suite of personalization tools intended to enhance the digital shopping experience.
Under the deal, Clarifai's visual AI provides, which provides insights into the visual similarity of products in a catalogue, will now be available to RichRelevance Xen AI clients. This will allow them to develop real-time personalization strategies based on image similarity and visual concepts, combined with individual customers' history, preferences, context and real-time behavior.
Initial uses have included visually similar product recommendations, image matching using the retailer's current product catalog with external pictures taken via mobile or social media sites such as Pinterest, and catalog enrichment. Raj Badarinath, VP of Marketing and Ecosystems at RichRelevance, says the partnership provides brands and retailers with data on everything from user behavior to deep learning AI, in a single platform.
