B2B International Founder Picks 50 Models for New Firm

A month after selling B2B International to Dentsu Aegis Network, co-founder Paul Hague has launched a new firm called B2B Frameworks, providing researchers with access to the models he has used during his career.

Paul HagueHague (pictured) and his son Nick set up B2B International in 1998 and sold it to Dentsu Aegis Network last month, for an undisclosed sum. Paul Hague previously founded Business & Market Research (B&MR) in 1972, and sold it in a management buy-out in 1996 - it became part of Harris Interactive. In addition, he is the author of ten books on B2B marketing and market research, including 'Business Models' - a book of 50 business frameworks used by consultants for delivery growth to companies. He is currently working on a book that will delve deeper into the business models with templates, theory and case studies.

The 50 frameworks which form the core of the new company are generic models / tool kits. Researchers can access a summary of how each one works and download PowerPoint slides which help them apply it to their data. Uses include marketing and pricing strategies, innovation, product management, customer analysis and general business strategy.

Explaining the rationale behind the launch, Hague said: 'Many years ago, as a cub researcher, I sat in a training session when the trainer introduced the subject of a SWOT - strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats - analysis. He was making the point that the SWOT model helped locate data within a context. It was a revelation to me and it brought the data alive. I became fascinated by the use of frameworks for market researchers, particularly those used in marketing and business strategy'.
