dunnhumby Opens in Sydney and Hires ANZ MD
Tesco-owned customer data firm dunnhumby has opened an office in Sydney, Australia, and appointed Kylie Gleeson-Long as Managing Director for ANZ.
The firm, which helped establish the Tesco Clubcard loyalty business in 1994, is now owned by the retail giant and has a presence in 27 countries. Its launch in the ANZ region is in response to global demand for presence in the region, for which strong growth is forecast.
Gleeson-Long (pictured) has spent more than seven years at multinational dairy cooperative FreislandCampina, latterly as Global Commercial Director, before which she worked for Kantar Retail in Singapore as Director of Consulting, Asia Pacific. Earlier, she was Head of Sales and CCSD (Shopper Marketing) at Nestlé Australia; MD of tech firm Asia Pathways; and Regional Customer and Channel Marketing Manager for The Coca-Cola Company.
Commenting on the expansion, CEO Guillaume Bacuvier said: 'Australia has one of the largest consumer markets in the world, with advanced thinking in the arena of customer data science. We decided to invest in a presence in Australia so we could cement our claim as the leading global company in the data science space, eventually working with a variety of local consumer goods and retail companies in the coming years'.
