Senior Hires for Ipsos Public Affairs in India

Ipsos in India has appointed Dr. Srikant Patel as Executive Director, Social Research and Dr. RB Gupta and Executive Director within its Public Affairs social research and opinion polling division.

Patel will lead the Social Research business and will report to Parijat Chakraborty, Country Service Lines Group Leader, PA, CX and Corp. Reputation. He has worked extensively in the Development Sector with government departments, UN bodies, international bodies and NGOs over two decades, managing large scale intervention studies, assessment projects, baseline and end-line studies. He has also studied many indigenous people and has 'spent years with them' in their environs, in remote and inaccessible regions. He holds an M.Phil and PhD in Social Anthropology from Sambalpur University.

Gupta joins following the international GfK asset acquisition - he was until recently leader of the German-based group's Social Research business in India. Over four decades his career has spanned academia, in IIPS Mumbai and IIHMR Jaipur; the development sector, working for SIFSPA and the Population Council; private sector work at GfK and at ORG-MARG; and work as an author. His subject expertise includes strategy and policy formulation, planning and evaluation of projects in the development sector; health and nutrition, family planning, reproductive and child health.
