PSB Hires Leader for Global Qual Offer
In the US, WPP-owned market research and political polling specialist Penn, Schoen and Berland Associates (PSB) has appointed Char Popp as SVP and Global Head of Qualitative Research, based in Seattle.
Founded in 1975, and acquired by WPP in 2001, PSB provides research-based consultancy to help corporate, entertainment and political clients hone their messaging and communications strategies. Popp (pictured) joins with a twenty-year background in strategic research and marketing strategy, gained in both in-house and in advisory roles in the tech industry. Before PSB, Popp spent more than seven years at Schireson Associates as Partner in charge of its Qual Research business. Prior to this she worked at Microsoft, leading Product Planning efforts for multiple components of Office, including the final customer validation for Office Online. Earlier in her career, she worked for Hitachi Consulting and HP in program and product management capacities.
Mike Pettingill, PSB's Chief Operating Officer, to whom Popp will report, comments: 'I'm excited to unlock our qualitative capabilities for our clients in new and different ways with Char at the helm. She has a tremendous mind for the consumer and goes beyond the norm to get to the unanticipated root of an issue'.
