Unruly's Hughes Joins Outbrain for Partnerships Role

In New York, content discovery and personalization platform Outbrain has appointed former Unruly exec Craig Hughes as Vice President, Partnerships and Corporate Development.

Craig HughesNew York-based Outbrain combines delivery of personalized online, mobile and video content with the provision of data to help publishers understand audiences. In the summer, the firm acquired AdNgin, which uses a proprietary algorithm to A/B test channels and understand consumers' personal interests and digital interactions.

Hughes (pictured) joins from News Corp-owned video ad distribution and tracking platform Unruly, where he served as SVP Global Business Development. Before this, he was a data partnerships and business development lead at social media analytics firm Peerindex, prior to its acquisition by Brandwatch. Earlier, he worked for IBM, latterly as Strategy & Transformation - Marketing.

In his new appointment Hughes' initial focus will be on developing relationships with key partners, supporting growth in areas ranging from publisher revenue and brand safety to programmatic access and fraud prevention. He will also be a member of Outbrain's strategy and corporate development team.
