TV Data Firm Upgrades with Content Recognition

TV data company Alphonso is adding automated content recognition features (ACR) to its ad analytics software, improving its offer to local broadcasters and station groups.

TV Data Firm Upgrades with Content RecognitionAlphonso says it collects data from smart TVs and other connected devices in the living rooms of 34 million national TV homes who have opted in to the system. The firm announced in February this year it was joining a consortium alongside Sky, Adobe Systems and TVbeat, working with the European TV industry to explore new developments in measurement and data; and began a partnership with IRI to provide advanced measurement solutions to brands looking to understand the impact of their TV and digital advertising.

The launch of 'Alphonso Local' gives local TV stations three new services, according to www.mediapost.com : local TV-to-digital re-targeting, both web and mobile; local TV ad insights for media planning and competitor analysis; and attribution metrics for sales lift and other trends. NBC's TV station group is the first client for the new product.
