Dan Coates Named MRII Board President

The Board of the MRII (Market Research Institute International) has elected Ypulse co-founder Dan Coates as Board President for 2019, succeeding Researchscape International CRO Jeffrey Henning, who becomes Executive Director.

MRII offers online market research courses covering the fundamental skills for the profession, to the standards of leading worldwide industry associations. The organisation partners with the University of Georgia on 'Principles' courses for Market Research, Mobile Market Research and Pharmaceutical Market Research, and has taught more than 8000 practitioners from 104 countries.

Coates (pictured) takes over after nine years as President of youth research specialist Ypulse, prior to which he was President of Globalpark, co-founded SurveyU, and held senior roles at Polimetrix, SPSS and PlantetFeedback. Earlier, he founded Burke Interactive, and he served as VP of the IT&T division at The Angus Reid Group.

Coates takes over from Henning in leading the Board, which has also elected Melanie Courtright, EVP of Global Research Science at Research Now SSI, as President-Elect; and Marjette Stark, President of Stark Solutions, as Treasurer. It has also named four new members: Marion Boeri, Global Lead of Thought Leadership Research at Spotify; Zoe Dowling, SVP of Research at FocusVision; Dan Foreman, Chairman of the Boards of Zappi, Bakamo.Social, and eYeka; and Zontziry Johnson, Market Research Manager at Microsoft and owner of the MRXplorer blog and podcast. They replace retiring Board members Bill MacElroy, Chairman of Socratic Technologies; Sherri Neuwirth, Principal of Neuwirth Consulting; and Julie Williams, retired Product Manager at MaritzCX Research.
