MRC Re-Accredits MRI Syndicated Service
In New York, the Media Rating Council (MRC) Board of Directors has voted for continued accreditation of consumer and media research specialist MRI's national syndicated measurement service.
Founded in 1979, GfK MRI (known as Mediamark Research and Intelligence until its takeover by GfK in 2005) provides magazine audience ratings, multimedia research data and insights into consumers' behaviour and motivations. It is also known for its national Survey of the American Consumer, which interviews roughly 24,000 US adults to examine their use of media alongside their consumption of more than 6,500 products, their lifestyles and their attitudes.
MRI has been accredited since 1998 and its MD Anna Welch says it is the only measurement of its kind to win MRC approval. George Ivie, CEO and Executive Director of the MRC, adds: 'We congratulate MRI on once again earning MRC accreditation. Since it was first accredited in 1998, MRI has consistently demonstrated an ongoing commitment to high-quality research standards and rigorous execution, the result of which is that it is now among the longest-tenured MRC accredited measurement services in the marketplace'.
