Permanent Role for CRIC's Tabone
John Tabone, who has served as Interim Chief Administrative Officer for new Canadian MR body CRIC since April 2019, has been appointed to the role on a permanent basis, with immediate effect.
Since the Spring, Tabone (pictured) has developed a new CRIC website with expanded membership categories, supported the launch of CAIP Canada, and overseen the development of the organisation's new Research Verification Service. He will now focus on developing the Council's accreditation process, growing and enhancing membership, and supporting the launch of the CRIC public opinion research standards and disclosure requirements.
He brings to the role more than 20 years of experience in research and association leadership: nineteen of them at the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and its predecessor (the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants), where he founded the insights and analytics function and led teams responsible for areas including member loyalty programs, online communities, career services, webinars and sponsorship. After this he began his own marketing consultancy, ConvergeLoyalty.
He has also served as Director of Education for the country's Professional Marketing Research Society (PMRS), and was its final President, helping to finalize its successful merger with CAMRO and the CSRC to form the MRIA; and as Chair of the Client-Side Research Council. He holds an Honours Bachelors of Commerce degree from McMaster University and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
