Nielsen's Megan Clarken to Become Criteo CEO
Long-time Nielsen exec Megan Clarken is joining ad targeting and retargeting specialist Criteo as Chief Executive Officer on November 25th. She replaces founding Chairman and CEO JB Rudelle, who will remain as company Chairman.
Criteo combines predictive software and consumer intent / purchasing data to deliver targeted ads in real time, and has bolstered its offer with the acquisitions of performance marketing company BrandLogic and ad tailoring firm DataPop. Rudelle and the company's Board of Directors have decided to bring in a new CEO with proven experience in company transformation, and say that by splitting the roles of Chairman and CEO, the firm is creating the right conditions to accelerate Criteo's transformation into a technology platform.
Clarken (pictured) spent the past fifteen years in various positions at Nielsen; initially as VP of Web Analytics, then MD of Media Client Services in APMEA, and MD of Nielsen's digital businesses in both Asia Pacific and Australia, before becoming Chief Commercial Officer of Nielsen Global Media earlier this year. Commenting on the appointment, Rudelle said: 'I am personally very happy to work with Megan on the next phase of our transformative journey. The addition of Megan will significantly strengthen our executive team in its strategic evolution.'
