UserTesting Buys Video Analyst TruthLab
In the US, customer insights platform UserTesting has acquired TruthLab, a provider of video analysis backed by machine learning. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2016 by former UserTesting CRO Patrick Donnelly and software developer Scott Hutchins, TruthLab builds customer experience management products and solutions, designed to enable companies to drive customer satisfaction, retention and advocacy. Its platform uses technologies including artificial intelligence (AI), to collect and analyze disparate customer data.
UserTesting says customers will be able to use this to identify and extract the 'moments that matter' from videos automatically, making it easier for them to connect, learn, understand and empathize with their audiences, and build and deliver more meaningful experiences. The latest deal follows UserTesting's January acquisition of market research and UX test panel provider UserMuse, through which it has grown its own panel demographics and provided additional access to customer audiences.
UserTesting CEO Andy MacMillan says the buy will accelerate the delivery of machine learning logic in his firm's platform, giving its users access to richer data and more intelligent insights. He adds: 'UserTesting is building the smartest human insight platform on the market, by providing added value through automatic video insight delivery - and with a recommendation engine that is both actionable and intelligent'.
