Seed Funds for Indonesian Insights Firm Populix
Indonesia-based consumer insights start-up Populix has raised $1m in a round of seed funding, which it will use to develop new product features and hire new employees. The firm is also planning to cover more countries in the Southeast Asia region.
Founded last year by CEO Timothy Astandu and COO Eileen Kamtawijoyo (pictured), Populix offers a platform to help businesses connect with respondents and better understand consumer preferences in Indonesia. It also sells in-house research and datasets to clients.
New funding has been led by Intudo Ventures, with participation from Gobi Agung and Pegasus Tech Ventures, and will also be used to develop a mobile version of the firm's platform for respondents. Astandu comments: 'By starting Populix, we aspire to improve market research, using technology to streamline research processes while simultaneously making it more rigorous'.
