Nielsen Senior Hires Include Global HR Chief
Nielsen has named Laurie Lovett as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, starting January 13th; and Christopher Taft as SVP Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. In addition, former Microsoft and CBS exec Nancy Tellem joins the Board.
Lovett (pictured) will run HR for the Nielsen Global Media business and remain with the Media side after the separation of Nielsen's two businesses. She brings twenty years' experience from leadership roles at Accenture, and has since spent three and a half years as Global Chief HR Officer at Verisk Analytics. CEO David Kenny, who will also join the Media wing after the split, says of the hire: 'We are thrilled to welcome Laurie to Nielsen. Her ability to apply best in class HR solutions while building a talent culture and guiding others to become great leaders and managers will help us to supercharge the next era of the Nielsen Global Media business'.
Taft has spent more than ten years in Controller roles at the General Electric Company and at Nielsen, having earlier worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He joined Nielsen in July 2016, has been acting Controller for 10 months, and will now add the Chief Accounting Officer duties to his remit. Kenny says Taft 'brings a great understanding of our businesses to this role and will provide terrific insight as we move to separate the company into two publicly traded entities later in 2020'.
Tellem has served as the Executive Chairman and Chief Media Officer of JBF Interlude 2009 Ltd. ('Eko') since April 2015, and was previously President, Xbox and CEO Digital Media Solutions at Microsoft Corporation, for two years until autumn 2014. Earlier, she worked at CBS Corporation (now ViacomCBS Inc).
Nielsen has made a number of recent top level hires, including Sandra Sims-Williams earlier this month as SVP of Diversity & Inclusion; and former IBM exec Jacqueline Woods as CMO
