Zappi's Wates Joins Measure Protocol
London firm Measure Protocol, a blockchain-based marketplace for person-based data, has hired ZappiStore's former Head of Operations Guy Wates for a newly created position, Director of Operations and Programmatic.
Launched last year by four former YuMe and Crowd Science execs, Measure Protocol's platform aims to ensure individuals are paid fairly and data usage is secure and transparent. Last week, the firm announced it had raised £2m in a funding round led by digital data collection specialist Dynata and venture firm Blockchain Valley Ventures, with participation from medical fieldwork business Medicys.
Wates (pictured) joins after nearly three years at automated consumer insights platform Zappi, prior to which he spent six years at GfK; latterly as Global Operations Manager - GfK Cross Media Link, having earlier been the company's UK Panel Operations Director. During his career, Wates was also a Senior Analyst at GfK, Head of Research at Swap It Shop, and an Account Executive at GMI. He began his market research career as a media researcher with TNS Media (now part of the Kantar family).
In this newly formed position, Wates will help guide growth for the company, using his experience in operations, sales, client servicing and relationship management.
