National Election Polling Partnership

With John Kerry powering ahead in the democratic nomination, exit polls analysing the reasons for his success have featured highly in US news. Polls for the November General Elections will be conducted by the same team of Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International, with data collection by Interviewing Service of America (ISA) and Universal Survey Center (USC).

The National Election Pool was created by six major news organizations (ABC, AP, CBS, CNN, Fox, and NBC) to provide tabulated vote counts and exit poll surveys for the 2004 major presidential primaries and the November general election.

In a recent joint decision, the six appointed Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International as the sole official 2004 National Election Exit Polling Service for the major presidential primaries and the November general election. The same group of news organizations appointed the Associated Press to conduct the Vote Count for the same elections.

ISA, of Van Nuys, California and USC of New York City were then selected by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International, as their national Exit Polling partners. The ISA/USC team will be responsible for all inbound and IVR data collection for the major 2004 presidential primaries and the upcoming General Elections for President, Senator and Governor in all 50 states in November 2004.
