Data Ownership Platform Mine Launches Out of Stealth
Israeli AI-based 'data ownership' platform Mine has launched from stealth mode with a $3m seed round of funding.
Mine was set up in 2018 by CEO and former Nielsen exec Gal Ringel (pictured), along with CTO Gal Golan and Chief Product Officer Kobi Nissan. Using machine learning technology, the platform allows users to see which companies hold their data, and what information is being collected about them.
This enables individuals to analyse their digital footprint, gain control over their personal data, and exercise their GDPR right-to-be-forgotten from any company.
New funding has been led by Battery Ventures and Saban Ventures. Ringel comments: 'We are entering a decade where people are increasingly concerned with how intrusive everyday apps and platforms have become. Therefore, we decided to invest our efforts into building a solution that will provide consumers with a real choice about who gets to keep their data and how it's used. We are kick-starting the future of data ownership'.
