Kantar's MacGregor Named Bakamo Public MD
UK-based social media listening specialist Bakamo has appointed former Kantar director James MacGregor as Managing Director of its Public division.
The firm, which also has an office in Budapest, uses a proprietary approach called DeepScape to understand social media conversations and uncover the themes that motivate people to participate in online discussions. The Bakamo Public division helps governments, NGOs, charities, foundations and philanthropic entities address global societal challenges, such as migration across the EU, on which it published a report last year.
MacGregor (pictured) joins from Kantar Public, where he was responsible for all agency new business and key client relationships. Prior to this he worked for youth, student and young professionals specialist YouthSight as Director of Higher Education Research, developing new business, new products, project delivery, and representing the firm on higher education issues. Earlier, he was Head of Market Strategy at Goldsmiths, University of London; and Head of Market Intelligence at EdComs.
Commenting on the appointment, Bakamo CEO and founder Daniel Fazekas said: 'We have been delivering our validated 'Insights Without Asking' approach in the public sector for over a year now and the time has come for us to hire an all-rounder with an outstanding track record - James fits the bill perfectly. James comes with an impressive pedigree and excellent credentials and we are delighted to have him on board'.
