Newsmax TV Hires VP of Research and Analysis
In the US, cable channel Newsmax TV has hired former Fox News research chief Jason Villar as Vice President of Research and Analysis.
Owned by Newsmax Media, the New York-based channel broadcasts a news/talk format throughout the day and night, with documentaries and films on weekends. Villar (pictured) joins after a decade at Fox, where he latterly served as VP, Media, Market Research and Business Insights for Fox News Networks, formulating and coordinating all ad sales, marketing initiatives and audience targeting. Prior to this he was Director of Media & Market Ad Sales Research for A&E Television Networks; and he worked for MTV Networks as Senior Manager, Business Development and Ad Sales Research.
In his new role, Villar will head up data, market and ratings analysis, working with the company's Advertising and Programming departments. Commenting on the appointment, Sam Moser, CRO and EVP of National Advertising, said: 'Jason was responsible for much of Fox's forward-thinking research approach and we're delighted he's joined Newsmax TV to help make us America's No. 1 choice for news'.
