New Funds for Location Insights Firm Bluedot
San Francisco-based Bluedot, whose technology provides location insights on mobile apps, has raised $9.1m in a Series B round of funding. This will be used to extend the firm's technology and launch a new predictive time-of-arrival targeting service called Tempo.
Tempo enables businesses to know the exact moment a customer enters a store, drives up to a curbside pickup spot, or arrives at a drive-thru window. As an alternative to radius-based geofencing, the tool takes into account travel time, traffic patterns, topography, and real-life behavior such as how long it takes to get into a vehicle. Using the solution, clients can deliver contextual messaging to boost customer engagement.
The new funding round has been led by Autotech Ventures, with participation from existing investor Transurban, and new investors Forefront Ventures, IAG Firemark Ventures and Mighty Capital, bringing the total funding to date to $21.9m. Emil Davityan (pictured), CEO of Bluedot, comments: 'A huge shout out to our talented Bluedot team and thanks to all the advisors, investors, partners, and most of all, customers who believed in us. We couldn't have come this far without you'.
