GMI in Windy City
Online MR solutions provider Global Market Insite (GMI) has added to its recent announcement of an office in Hawaii with another in Chicago, Illinois, and has appointed Steven Werner, formerly a Vice President at IRI, to head it up.
Werner's role at GMI will build on his more than 15 years experience in the development and strategic application of consumer purchase tracking systems. At IRI (Information Resources, Inc.) he was Vice President of Business Development for the Technology Consulting Services Group, leading sales and implementation efforts for IRI's Web information delivery system, CPGNetwork(tm). Previous to this he spent 4 years with SPSS.
According to Rob Monster, GMI's Founder and CEO, Werner's expertise in the consumer tracking industry, 'combined with our integrated, global market research framework, positions GMI to make rapid progress in the area of delivering a 'next-generation' solution for global consumer purchase tracking'.
Werner himself says that the CPG industry has over time 'witnessed significant erosion in the value of consumer scanner and channel audit data. The unwillingness of dominant retailers to provide data, the increased importance of unmeasured, non-traditional channels, and the need for more timely data, all require CPG clients to re-evaluate their methods for monitoring consumer purchase behavior. GMI is well-placed to equip the research industry with a superior solution'.
