Utilities Sector Researcher E Source Buys StrategyWise
In the US, utilities-focused customer research agency E Source has acquired big data and data science consulting firm StrategyWise. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
StrategyWise uses analytics and business intelligence solutions to help organizations capture, analyse and apply insights to business process improvement and policy formation issues. The firm analyzes qual and quant data to advise on industry sectors, competitors and business practices.
E Source - which works with electric, gas, and water utilities in the US and Canada - says the buy will help to expand its own data science, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and predictive analytics capabilities. The latest deal follows E Source's recent takeover of TROVE Predictive Data Science, which provides software solutions for the utility industry.
As part of the new deal, StrategyWise CEO Joshua Jones (pictured) becomes Vice President of Market Innovation for E Source's Data Science division. He comments: 'We've seen tremendous market response to the machine learning tools we've built for the utility sector, and E Source is the perfect partner to help us bring these products to the next level. Utilities are eager to make better use of their data, and now E Source is poised to take its clients' operations to the next level'.
