Unruly Gives UK MD APAC Group MD Role
Video ad distribution and tracking platform Unruly has promoted its UK MD Alex Khan to the position of Group Managing Director, International, heading up the company's commercial activity across the APAC region, while continuing to oversee all UK operations.
Founded in 2006, Tremor International-owned Unruly uses emotional data to deliver targeted advertising to 1.2 billion people. The company tracks video views using its proprietary measurement platform and analytics dashboard, through which brands and agencies can measure the impact of their social media video strategies against their competitors'. In addition, the company uses historical sharing behaviour to predict the potential for video ads to go viral across all digital touch points.
Khan (pictured) joined in May from digital ad tech platform Smaato, where he served as MD, APAC, based in Singapore; prior to which, he was responsible for the combined Platforms and Enterprise business for ad and publishing solutions agency Oath in APAC, and he was MD for AOL Asia and ANZ. Earlier, Khan held senior roles at Adap.tv, Catcha Digital, Aktiv Group, and Deal Group Media. He now takes over the APAC region from Phil Townend, who has left his post as CRO after ten years at Unruly, and will continue to provide consultancy services to the Unruly team, particularly focused on Australia.
Based in London, Khan will report into Unruly CRO Steve Sottile, who comments: 'APAC is a key territory for us as we continue to push out our all-screens proposition around the world, so getting the right leadership in place and quickly is essential. Alex has only been here a short time but has really hit the ground running. His extensive experience and industry knowledge have been key in driving the company's new value proposition forward'.
