VideoAmp Hires Steuer for New TV Currency Creation Role
In the US, TV measurement and optimization platform VideoAmp has hired Jonathan Steuer for its newly created role of EVP of TV Strategy & Currency, tasked with driving the strategy behind the company's development of a cross-screen currency for the entire advertising ecosystem.
Launched in 2014, VideoAmp offers a single platform through which to buy, optimize and measure digital video ads across TV, mobile and desktop devices. The firm's current commingled TV data solution combines Smart TV ACR, cable STB and satellite STB data. Steuer (pictured) joins after nearly two decades in the media research and audience-based media planning sectors. Most recently, he worked at Omnicom Media Group (OMG) as Chief Research Officer (CRO), managing the group's research, advanced media and investment operations and analytics teams; and overseeing the development and deployment of advanced TV solutions and other data-driven, cross-platform, audience-based media solutions. Prior to this, he was CRO at TiVo, and he held senior roles at AT&T Advanced Advertising Solutions (now Xandr), consumer research company Iconoculture, and Scient.
In his new position, Steuer will work alongside recently appointed Chief Measurability Officer Josh Chasin, to speed up the firm's strategy to develop a new cross-screen currency to support audience-based planning, buying, targeting and measurement. CEO and co-founder Ross McCray comments: 'Jonathan is a legend and we couldn't be happier to have him as a part of the team. We've worked closely over the past couple of years and I know he can rally the industry to bring the ideas that everyone has been talking a lot about into fruition, with the software, data and privacy solutions we have built over the last six years.'
