DataChat Raises Seed Funds for Analytics Platform
In the US, analytics platform DataChat has raised $4m in a seed funding round, which it will use to further scale its team and customer base.
Formed as a spinout from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, DataChat has developed a Conversational Intelligence (CI) platform to help business users obtain insights from their data by simply chatting with the platform. Through the solution, users can carry out a broad range of functions - including exploratory and predictive analytics, structured querying, visualization and data wrangling - with no coding experience required.
New funding was led by Silicon Valley venture capital firms WRVI Capital and Nepenthe Capital, with participation from individual investors from Google and Palo Alto Networks. Jignesh Patel (pictured), CEO and co-founder of DataChat, comments: 'We're building technology that represents the future of how people get insights from their data. It's a sophisticated technology that cuts across multiple disciplines in computer science, including data science and AI. We needed smart money to fuel our vision and this round does exactly that'.
