Karlsgate Launches Protected Insights Sharing Tool
In New York, data collaboration company Karlsgate has launched a platform allowing user firms to share consumer insights while protecting identities and complying with privacy regulations.
Founded earlier this year by former Axciom / Dun & Bradstreet exec Brian Mullin (pictured), Karlsgate develops technology to support and reconcile consumers' privacy concerns and businesses' need for insights. The new Karlsgate Identity Exchange 'privacy-as-a-service' platform enables brands to exchange consumer insights without ever disclosing identifying information; and its cryptographic algorithms allow individual-level matching while preventing identity disclosure, retention, persistency and re-identification.
Karlsgate says the tool's collaborative portal removes the need for lengthy testing agreements and processes; while distributed processing ensures organizations never lose control of customer identities because the data never leaves their environment. Mullin comments: 'The legacy infrastructure for data sharing leaves risky gaps in consumer identity protection because it relies on moving personal data around the digital marketing ecosystem. Karlsgate Identity Exchange represents a new paradigm for securely sharing and matching data sets without transferring data custody to any third party'.
