Seed Funds for Data Integration Start-Up Jitsu
In San Francisco, open-source data integration start-up Jitsu has raised $2m in a seed round of funding, which it will use for further product development and staff recruitment.
Jitsu was founded a year ago by former CTOs Peter Wysinski and Vladimir Klimontovich, to support companies wanting to collect customer data and insights without it going via a third party. Users of the platform can capture data from web applications, mobile apps, physical devices and SaaS platforms at scale, without the need to build their own collectors, pipelines and data lakes.
New funding has been led by Costanoa Ventures with participation from YCombinator, The House Fund and SignalFire. Tony Liu, Investor at Costanoa Ventures, comments: 'Peter and Vladimir both solved the problem of ingesting large volumes of event data with low latency, as founders and CTOs at their previous companies. They are pure technologists and have designed Jitsu with a developer first mind-set and a focus on data privacy'.
