Research America Buys Pharma Specialist Segmedica

MR and consulting firm Research America has acquired pharma and health researcher Segmedica (xsperient), for an undisclosed sum.

Buffalo, NY-based Segmedica applies psychology and mathematical modeling techniques to healthcare and wellness market research and market segmentation for clients across the US and around the world. The company also offers access to psychologically profiled panels. This latest deal brings Research America's total acquisitions over the past six years to sixteen.

Segmedica Principals Peter and Donna Simpson and their team will remain in place and will continue to serve their long-term clients. Robert Porter (pictured), CEO of Research America, says the acquired firm's 'collaborative culture and entrepreneurial spirit are a perfect match with Research America's, and their expertise in healthcare and wellness market research will synergize well with [its] existing research capabilities in those areas'.
