New Funding for Analytics Platform ThoughtSpot

In the US, artificial intelligence-based analytics platform ThoughtSpot has raised an undisclosed amount of investment funding from the venture capital arm of its long-term partner Snowflake.

ThoughtSpot enables clients to instantly analyze billions of rows of data, and use artificial intelligence to get insights pushed to them as answers to thousands of questions. Two years ago, the firm partnered with Nielsen to launch a platform called Retail Insights, allowing brands to unearth insights in Nielsen's dataset using a simple search.

Snowflake Ventures is part of data warehousing company Snowflake, which powers ThoughtSpot's cloud-based platform. The latest funds add to the company's $248m Series E investment round in 2019.

Ajeet Singh (pictured), ThoughtSpot co-founder & Executive Chairman, says that as data increasingly moves to the cloud, the firm's growing partnership with Snowflake will help it advance its long-term mission 'to put insights from across the data cloud into the hands of every employee with search and AI'.
